What?
Assignment:
Design a garden that is usable, enjoyable and comfortable for everyone:
1. Analyse the existing context (i.e. site and its environment) from a spatial and social perspective.
2. Propose an inclusive design concept for the garden that answers to the variousneeds, experiences and dreams of all its users (from the perspective of UD).
3. Work out three specific design solutions in more detail.
The question from Asster:
You work out a project on the building of PVT (psychiatric nursing/care home). In this space there are a number of buildings with gardens around and plantings. But the intention is to make this a more therapeutic whole, which meets the needs of the patients/residents and employees. This can be an open garden or with a walk, experience garden, etc. Everything is actually somewhat possible only we must take into account an existing artwork.
Design a garden that can be used for everyone!

Gardener Asster -> Interviews (walk)
We've listed up the things from the interviews that are most important to take into consideration when you're designing the garden:
Sitting areas: with a special need that they can be flexible, moved around and the people must be able to sit face to face. This in combination with some private areas.
Paved surfaces/ terraces: Some of the residents are not really good at walking and need a stable ground and area to walk on.
Paths: A path through the garden, for example one that leeds to the garden and different interesting locations in and around it.
Shelter: Areas with shelter options for when it's raining and for shade.
No smoking areas: The vision of Asster is for the residents to stop smoking in the future, so this is something to exclude from your design.
Coziness and color: You need to bring more life to the garden and make it attractive to come outside by using flowers, lights, cozy areas, smells,.. in your design.
Game areas: . What a lot of them mentioned was a petanque court and an open air fitness area.
Artwork: While making the design, you should consider the artwork that will stand in the garden and maybe you can even work around it. Just make sure that it's always visible. More detailed info -> Artwork
DIY: Consider some things that they could build themselves and make use of cheaper, accessible and reusable materials.
